To effectively carry out the work of evaluation preparation and improvement, the School of Physics held an expert review meeting on the self-assessment report for undergraduate education and teaching review and evaluation on April 11 in Room B706 of the Emerald Science and Education Building.
The meeting invited several experts to provide guidance on the self-assessment work of the School of Physics, including Tang Shuo from the university supervisory group, Vice Dean of the School of Mathematics Kai Xiaoshan, as well as Ning Rongjian, Xiong Lianhua, and Jiang Hui. Attendees included Party Secretary of the School of Physics Gong Huiling, Dean Gao Weiqing, other members of the leadership team, and members of the school’s evaluation working group.

Dean Gao Weiqing delivered the welcome speech, and the meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Li Zhongjun. Director Wang Fei gave a report on the progress of the school’s self-assessment work, the achievements of the evaluation process, identified problems, and corresponding solutions. The experts in attendance fully affirmed the self-assessment efforts of the School of Physics and engaged in discussions on key elements of the report, supporting materials, and the list of issues. They provided valuable suggestions on how to further refine the highlights of the school’s teaching practices, emphasize the integration of competition, learning, and research in talent cultivation, and ensure alignment and accuracy of various indicators in the supporting materials. In conclusion, Gong Huiling summarized the school's evaluation work and raised higher expectations in areas such as the refinement of teaching characteristics, personnel allocation, resource distribution, and data coordination. She encouraged the school to concentrate its efforts to successfully complete this round of undergraduate education review and evaluation.
This expert review meeting also served as a mutual evaluation and teaching supervision activity between the School of Physics and the School of Mathematics. The School of Physics will carefully review the suggestions and feedback provided by the experts, strive to improve the quality of undergraduate teaching, and uphold the principle of “mutual evaluation, mutual learning, and improvement through evaluation” to ensure a high-quality response to this round of undergraduate education and teaching review.
