To strengthen curriculum development, promote teaching reforms, and improve the quality of classroom teaching, in accordance with the university's notice on organizing the Young Teachers' Teaching Skills Competition, the School of Physics held the 2024 Young Teachers' Teaching Skills Competition Selection on the afternoon of November 13th at 4:00 PM in Room B708 of the Jade Science and Education Building.
Three young teachers—Zhou Leiming, Zheng Renfei, and Liu Xiaofeng—represented their respective departments in the competition. Members of the School's Undergraduate Teaching Guidance and Supervision Committee, along with some senior teaching staff, served as judges. Young teachers under the age of 40 were present to observe and learn. The three contestants displayed strong enthusiasm, poised appearances, and clear, smooth course delivery. Their explanations were insightful and easy to understand, and there was lively interaction throughout, showcasing their solid teaching skills.
The judges provided feedback on various aspects of the teaching process, including course design, content selection, course characteristics, the integration of ideological and political education, and the combination of tone and body language. They offered constructive comments and suggestions for improvement. The competition was a dynamic display of the contestants' passion for education, with their lessons reflecting the educational philosophy of fostering virtue and focusing on student-centered teaching.
The successful organization of this teaching competition has provided a platform for young teachers to showcase their skills and engage in mutual learning. The School will continue to encourage departments to conduct various teaching and research activities to refine the basic teaching skills of young teachers and support the high-quality development of the School's education and teaching.
